Ann Brown Scholarship
$1,000 Scholarships for High School Students pursuing a curriculum which focuses on natural resources and/or conservation.
The Lancaster County Conservation District Ann Brown Scholarships are made possible through an Ann Brown bequest, and from contributions of individuals concerned that we maintain and protect our natural resources. Applications are accepted from January through March from high school equivalent seniors continuing their education with the intent of majoring in a curriculum which focuses on natural resources and/or conservation. Some examples of acceptable programs of studies would be: Environmental Sciences; Wildlife and/or Fisheries Biology; Environmental Resource Management; or other related programs, leading to an advanced degree (2 yr technical, Associate Degree or 4 yr Baccalaureate Degree).
Basis for the selection will be determined on past performance and activities, current school and community involvement, future purpose and direction plus the applicant’s ability to communicate. The scholarship committee, prior to the final selection, will interview the top candidates in April. The District anticipates providing two $1,000 scholarships each year.
Applications for the 2025/2026 school year are due Thursday, March 27th, 2025. Applicants can either mail in their application materials, or submit them via email to the addresses listed on the application. A confirmation email will sent to the applicant when we have received an application.
